Ustka (Stolpmünde) and Rowy (Rowe)

The town of Ustka (German: Stolpmünde) lies at the mouth of the Słupia River (Stolp) on the Baltic Sea. With its wide sandy beaches on both sides of the river mouth, Ustka is considered the most important Baltic seaside resort between Darlowo and Sopot. The seaside resort of Rowy (Rowe), on the edge of Słowiński National Park, is also part of the municipality of Ustka.

Port of UstkaUstka has one of the most beautiful seafront promenades on the Polish Baltic coast, and the town calls itself Poland’s “summer capital.” The breakwater with its mermaid sculpture is one of the town’s landmarks. Ustka Lighthouse is as much of a draw for visitors as the old fishermen’s cottages, which offer a glimpse into Ustka’s history. The port of Ustka has a modern appearance, while the seaside resort’s historic 19th-century buildings have also been reconstructed, making Ustka a great place to stroll and shop.

Seaside resort of Rowy (Rowe)

Rowy (Rowe)About 20 kilometres northeast of Ustka lies the seaside resort of Rowy (German: Rowe), which is part of the municipality of Ustka. Rowy is an attractive, somewhat quieter complement to and alternative to Ustka. With Słowiński National Park and its shifting dunes as a backdrop, Rowy is also an ideal starting point for excursions into the natural landscapes of Poland’s Baltic coast.
