Hörvik combines a small sandy beach with a rocky coastline and a long fishing history. When choosing a holiday destination, you can weigh up different interests here: a beach between two fishing villages, rocky coastal scenery and a place whose history is closely tied to fishing.

Sandy Beach and Cliffs

Hörvik’s bathing beach is a small sandy beach between the fishing villages of Hörvik and Krokås. There are also many small coves in Hörvik, so the coastal scenery is not limited to this one stretch of beach. There is a toilet and a barbecue area at the bathing beach, and a playground is nearby. As facilities may change, check local information before your visit. For the 2026 bathing season, the bathing water quality was rated excellent.

West of Hörvik lies Hörviks Hallar, a cliff bathing spot with views of Hanö. Gently water-worn rock slabs and rock formations shape this stretch of coast. This gives you a choice between two distinct landscapes: the small sandy beach between the villages and the rocky coast at Hörviks Hallar.

Nature Reserves and Views

Hörvik lies within the protected area of Listershuvud Nature Reserve and offers views across the long, narrow Pukaviksbukten and the Blekinge coast. Listershuvud Nature Reserve itself is also nearby: its summit is 84 metres above sea level and offers sweeping views over Hanö Bay and Listerlandet.

Another nature reserve in the area is Spraglehall. Its highest point is 25 metres above sea level, with views over Listerlandet and the Baltic Sea. You can reach Spraglehall by taking the road from Hörvik through Krokås to the end of the road. The elevation figures clearly distinguish the two viewpoints, while some of the views they offer overlap.

Fishing Village and Maritime History

Hörvik is a fishing village with a long history and was for a long time Lister’s largest eel-fishing village. Today, the village is shaped by a modern fishing industry, while some of its older buildings have been preserved. Krokås, a smaller fishing village with its own harbour, has almost grown together with Hörvik. The two names therefore belong to a closely connected coastal landscape, while each retains its own village character.

If you would like to learn more about Hörvik on a guided walk, you can book a village walk for your own group through the Sölvesborg Tourist Information Office. In summer, Hörviks Glass och Gott (MandelochMandel) runs an ice cream stand right by the sea. This seasonal offering complements the attractions at the beach and rocky coast, without being tied to a specific period within the summer.

Cycling, Harbour and Transport

Hörvik is one of the recreation areas along the Cykelled Listerlandet cycle route. When planning a journey, check the specific connection: some services run only between Hörvik and Sölvesborg, and service patterns may change.

The guest harbour in Hörvik provides visiting boats and motorhomes with electricity, toilets, showers, a kitchenette and a facility for emptying sewage. As operating details may change, it is advisable to check local information before travelling.
