Tejn is a port town on the northeast coast of Bornholm, 5 km south of Allinge-Sandvig. The centre is still organised around a harbour with berths for fishing boats, sailboats and motor yachts. Tejn developed from a small fishing village into a fishing centre; the harbour complex includes a fish factory, an ice house and a shipyard.

Culture and History

The townscape includes a white church and small, charming buildings. Tejn Church was built in 1940 in the Functionalist style. Centrally located, Smedjen uses the former blacksmith's workshops for craft markets, cultural events, street food, cafés and music events.

The surrounding area of Tejn is home to Hammershus, Solomon's Chapel and Rutskirke.

Nature

Nearby, southeast of Tejn, lies Døndalen, a Bornholm valley beside the road from Gudhjem to Tejn, known for Denmark's highest waterfall. Sorte Gryde and Stjernehøj are also located near Tejn.

Further afield in the region around Tejn are Antoinette and Bodilskirke. Bornholm is in the surrounding area of Tejn.

Culinary Delights

At Tejn harbour, Isværket offers gourmet ice cream made with local ingredients from Bornholm. Penylla Brewery in Tejn produces craft beers with a focus on local ingredients and the character of Bornholm.
