Blankenhof: Hotels and Accommodation

Blankenhof extends from the lowlands of the Aalbach to a higher ground moraine landscape west of the Tollense Valley. The Blocksberg reaches 85 metres above sea level.

Geographical Setting

Blankenhof is a municipality in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The municipality includes the districts of Chemnitz and Gevezin. Blankenhof is also the western neighbouring municipality of Neubrandenburg.

Landscape

Tannenberg and Reiherberg are located in the immediate vicinity of Blankenhof. Fuchsberg and Gerichtsberg are situated in the surrounding area. Gevezin lies southwest of Blankenhof. The 430-hectare Malliner Bach and Lakes Chain Landscape Protection Area extends east of the municipality of Blankenhof, east of Gevezin and southeast of Chemnitz; Gevezin and Chemnitz are districts of Blankenhof.

Culture and History

Chemnitz, a district of Blankenhof, has a Gothic fieldstone church built in 1305, with a wooden tower superstructure dating from the 18th century and an organ from 1845. The district was first mentioned in documents in 1305; nine cultural monuments are listed in Chemnitz.

Wildberg and Kulturpark are located in the surrounding area of Blankenhof; St. Georg, Neubrandenburg, is also situated there. Kittendorf, Village Church, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Blankenhof.

Water and Trails

In the wider regional surroundings of Blankenhof, trails are characterised by hilly landscapes, forests and nearby bodies of water; these include trails along Lake Tollensesee and in the Malliner Bach valley. Lake Tollensesee near Neubrandenburg offers swimming, boat trips and excursions on passenger boats. Some attractions along its shores can be reached on foot or by bicycle.
