History
Torgelow’s medieval origins are documented: in 1270, a castle and the surrounding landscape were mentioned; in 1281, the town was first mentioned in an official document. Torgelow Castle and the former Alt-Torgelow Castle, which was built around 1350, are part of its medieval history.
