Działdowo combines a preserved medieval urban layout with the memorial and museum history of the German KL Soldau camp. A memorial commemorates the victims of the German KL Soldau camp, which operated there from 1939 to 1945.

The Castle Museum includes an exhibition on the German KL Soldau camp and the wartime events in Działdowo. The preserved medieval urban layout with its market square retains the medieval form of the old town; architectural styles include Gothic, Baroque, Neo-Gothic, and Neo-Baroque. A medieval castle is also part of this urban complex.

The Interaktywne Muzeum Państwa Krzyżackiego presents exhibitions about the State of the Teutonic Order, including weapons, coins, and armor. Działdowo Castle is connected to a chapel with a stellar vault and a refectory.

Działdowo is located in the Mławskie Hills and on the Działdówka River, a section of the Wkra.

Geographical Location

In the wider regional surroundings of Działdowo are Dabrowno - Ruiny zamku krzyżackiego XIV w. and Nidzica - Zamek Krzyżacki XIVw.

Działdowo is considered an important railway junction connecting Warsaw with Gdańsk and Olsztyn. The S7 expressway runs near Działdowo.

The Soldau area also includes the places Nowa Wies, Murawki, Naguszewo, Kopaniarze, Działdowo, Grądy, Lidzbark, Uzdowo and Rybno.
