Stare Juchy is located on the Gawlik River, between Lakes Jędzelewo, Rękąty, and Ułówki. The combination of the river and lakes defines the geographical location of the town.

Geographical Location

Stare Juchy is located in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Ełk County and the Gmina of Stare Juchy. Lipowa Góra is located in the town’s wider regional surroundings. Stare Juchy has a railway station and is situated on the Giżycko–Ełk railway line.

Culture

The local cultural heritage includes a manor house with buildings dating from the second half of the 18th century, as well as a landscape park from the beginning of the 19th century. The park contains mature trees of various species, a pond, and a stream.

A large erratic boulder in the forest next to a local stream is also associated with local historical tradition. Religious offerings were made there in pre-Christian times.

In the Church of the Holy Trinity, memorial plaques have been preserved commemorating parish residents who were killed in the wars of 1866 and 1870–71. A fragment of a plaque commemorating those killed in the First World War is also present.

Leisure

A leisure and tourism park for families with children has been opened.

Other places: Laśmiady, Ełk, Rękusy, Ruska Wies, Sikory Juskie, Bartosze, Lepaki Wielkie and Mrozy Wielkie.

To the overarching travel overview: Lyck.
