In Rogale, historic memorial sites and a natural monument in the nearby area offer two different perspectives on the destination. In the village, there is a war cemetery for German and Russian soldiers from the First World War, as well as a monument to those who fell in that war. The Skalich erratic boulder, by contrast, lies between Rogale and Ziemiany. This geographical distinction provides clear orientation when planning a trip: the historic points of interest are in Rogale itself, while Skalich is a natural feature in the surrounding area. Several changes from different periods can be distinguished at the monument to those who fell in the First World War. After the war, the name plaque was removed and a figure was installed in its place. Also after the war, a Catholic—in other words, Christian—cross replaced the Iron Cross; in the 1970s, the stones of the monument were plastered over. These alterations affected both the symbols on the monument and its stone surface. The two postwar changes are not dated more precisely, while the plastering can be assigned to the 1970s.

A description from 2015 locates the monument in front of the church and calls it a wayside chapel. This adds information about its location and function at the time to the account of the changes.

The erratic boulder is listed as a natural monument.
