Kołbaskowo is located in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and Powiat Police, in the Szczecin Hills and 10 km from Szczecin.
Geographical Location
The town lies on the southern slope of Wał Stobniański in the Szczecin Hills. Its cross-border transport location is at the junction of the A6 and Road 13, next to the Szczecin–Berlin railway line and at the Kołbaskowo–Pomellen road border crossing.

The area around Kołbaskowo includes Wyspa Zielona, Grodzka Kępa, Wyspa Gryfia and Ostrów Grabowski. The Kołbaskowo Gmina also includes the Wzgórze Widokowe nad Międzyodrzem nature reserve, which was established to protect landscape, geomorphological and geobotanical values.
Culture and History
Kołbaskowo is home to a 14th-century parish church dedicated to the Holy Trinity, considered a late Romanesque hall church. The surrounding area also contains Szczecin - Zamek, dating from the 14th century; in the wider regional area, there are also a hillfort and a burial mound cemetery.
The history of the settlement is documented by inhabited settlements from the Bronze Age and a first written mention dating from 1243. This mention is associated with a tithe granted to the Cistercian convent in Szczecin.
