Båstad
Båstad, on Sweden’s Kattegat coast, part of the Baltic Sea, is one of Sweden’s best-known tourist destinations. It is also the northernmost town in Skåne County, right on Laholm Bay, a popular seaside destination in Sweden.
Until now, Båstad has made a name for itself through sport. The town on the Baltic coast is one of Sweden’s most important centres for tennis. The Swedish Open outdoor tennis tournaments are held here, often attracting more than 6,000 spectators. This creates high demand for hotels and holiday apartments in Båstad. And now that outdoor sports are among Sweden’s most popular ways to travel, holiday apartments in Båstad are always in demand.
But you don’t have to know how to play tennis to enjoy a holiday in Båstad on the Baltic coast. Båstad is set in beautiful, scenic countryside and opens onto Sweden’s west coast, whose white-sand beaches and rocky cliffs offer unique moments and panoramas time and again. Cycling tourism is popular here, and people love to swim, unwind and relax on holiday, or take a coastal walk using Nordic walking poles. Where sport is on the holiday agenda, wellness or medical wellness is often not far behind. A look into Båstad’s history reveals that treatments now certified under the term “wellness on the Baltic Sea” have existed since the 18th century.
A unique attraction is Bovigården in Broarp, near Båstad, a reconstruction of a Bronze Age house. Around the 19-metre-long house, visitors can experience what life was like in the Bronze Age more than 2,800 years ago.
You can book directly at Båstad holiday home.
