Nienhagen
The small Baltic resort of Nienhagen lies almost exactly halfway between the neighboring Baltic resorts of Heiligendamm and Warnemünde. The approach to the beach already hints at the extraordinary setting of the small Baltic resort of Nienhagen. The resort is characterized by its sheltered location east of a mature beech forest that borders directly on the cliff-lined coast. The area in front of the beach entrance offers sweeping views across the Baltic Sea, as the cliffs here rise several meters above sea level. Those who head left into the adjoining forest will agree with its name: the trees’ wind-shaped growth gave it the name “Ghost Forest.” The Baltic resort of Nienhagen offers well-maintained routes into the surrounding area, especially for hikers, cyclists, and skaters. The Baltic Coast Cycle Route passes directly through Nienhagen.
It is no coincidence that additional holiday complexes were built in Nienhagen after 1990. They have made the Baltic resort of Nienhagen a hidden gem in a region with a highly developed tourism infrastructure.
