Breege-Juliusruh
The Baltic Sea resort of Breege-Juliusruh lies in the north of the island of Rügen, on the Schaabe, a narrow strip of land between the Baltic Sea and the inner Bodden lagoons.
The Breege harbour on the Breeger Bodden, at the heart of the village, is also a popular starting point for boat excursions on the waters around Rügen and an attractive mooring for leisure boats.
Juliusruh, on the Schaabe, draws visitors with its long beach. Hotel and guesthouse buildings, mainly in the resort architecture style, are what visitors see today in the Baltic Sea resort of Breege-Juliusruh. The beach on the Schaabe is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen. Numerous car parks in the pine forest on the Schaabe make it possible for day visitors to enjoy a trip to the beach as well.
In many ways, the Baltic Sea resort of Breege-Juliusruh brings together the two characteristic waterscapes of the island of Rügen: the extensive, branching Bodden lagoons, with their calm, shallow waters and many secluded coves, and the beach on the open Baltic Sea, sheltered here by the coastal forest from the westerly winds that prevail in the region.
