Trassenheide
The family-friendly Baltic resort of Trassenheide is surrounded by meadows, marshland and heath, and nestles within a dune forest about one kilometre wide. At any time of year, it offers plenty of space for walks and cycling tours, as well as an abundant supply of berries and mushrooms in summer and autumn.
Trassenheide, one of the smallest seaside resorts on Usedom, was founded only in the early 19th century under the name “Hammelstall”. It was only when bathing began that the resort adopted its more guest-friendly name, which it still bears today.
Since the mid-1990s, the area immediately surrounding the beach has become an oasis of relaxation. The spa park with its concert shell, cafés and holiday accommodation right by the dunes have all become distinctive features of Trassenheide, and above all, so has the new beach promenade with its exceptionally spacious play area for children.
