Dźwirzyno (Kolberger Deep)
Halfway between Mrzeżyno (Deep) and Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) lies the Baltic seaside resort of Dźwirzyno. Tourism began to develop here in the 19th century, with the construction of several sanatoriums. Dźwirzyno is located near the outlet of Lake Kamper (Jezioro Resko Przymorskie) into the Baltic Sea. This outlet, also known as the “ferry”, has a small harbor and is an important asset for water tourism in the area. Before and after the Second World War (the town has been part of Poland since 1945), tourism development here was interrupted, as the entire region remained a restricted military zone until around 1960.

After the military restrictions ended, numerous sanatoriums and holiday homes were built from the 1960s onward, and have since been almost completely modernized. The many new buildings blend into an impressive dune landscape. These expansive dunes, typical of the Baltic coast, rise to heights of up to 16 meters here.
The outlet of Lake Resko into the Baltic Sea also follows the old course of the Rega River. The small sheltered harbor is home to numerous small fishing boats and also serves as a landing place for recreational boats. A holiday in the Baltic seaside resort of Dźwirzyno (Kolberger Deep) is appealing not only to nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts, but is also particularly well suited to an active family holiday on the Baltic coast. The nearby large Baltic resort of Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) is another reason to choose Dźwirzyno (Kolberger Deep) for a Baltic Sea holiday.
