Bornholm Guidebook
Andreas Haller, a passionate tour guide, has created a remarkable book. Anyone who has visited the Danish Baltic Sea island of Bornholm will soon abandon any preconceptions they may have had: surely nothing can happen on such a small island?
The author has succeeded in presenting Bornholm’s many different facets in a compact yet easy-to-follow way. From nature, regions and diverse coastlines to culture, places to visit and, above all, the residents’ distinctive character—Andreas Haller leaves no subject unexplored.

Places and highlights
The layout chosen by the author may seem superficial at first, but the island’s regular coastline makes dividing it by compass direction a logical choice. The names most closely associated with Bornholm are the towns of Rønne and Nexø. The island’s capital, Rønne, is also the port of call for ferries from Sweden, Denmark and the German ferry port of Sassnitz. Nexø , by contrast, is the hometown of the famous Danish poet Martin Andersen Nexø, who adopted the town’s name as his own. Nexø is also a ferry port for ships from Kołobrzeg in Poland
A holiday on Bornholm without a guidebook is only half the experience, and among the books on offer, the Michael Müller Verlag guide ranks near the very top.
Clear maps complement the thoughtful, well-informed descriptions.
