The harbor, completely redeveloped in 2003 at the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn, is a popular port of call for recreational sailors traveling between Wismar/Poel and Warnemünde. Yachtcharter Ostsee Kühlungsborn offers a wide range of services at this location. You can charter not only sailing or motor yachts up to 14 meters long, but also individual berths on longer sailing trips. Last-minute charters are also available, making it possible to set sail at short notice and at an affordable price.

Particularly appealing are the sailing excursions, offered for half or full days, but also lasting several days. Some people simply want to get a feel for life on board, while others hope to pick up a few tricks from the skipper.

Those who discover a passion for boating can take the next step at the Kühlungsborn Water Sports Center: earning the necessary qualifications. In addition to the German recreational craft licenses for coastal waters (SBF See) and inland waters (SBF Binnen), visitors can also obtain the so-called voluntary official licenses, which charter companies generally require. These include the Sportküstenschifferschein (SKS, for sailing within the 12-nautical-mile zone), the Sportseeschifferschein (SSS, up to 30 nautical miles), and the Sporthochseeschifferschein (SHSS). Practical experience at sea is required for these voluntary official licenses. Radio training is becoming increasingly important, as since 2005 operators of recreational craft have been required to hold a radio operator’s certificate.
