Karstädt is located on the B 5 federal highway and the Hamburg–Berlin railway line. The town and its surroundings combine a distinctive townscape, summer bathing facilities, and various cultural attractions and excursion destinations.
Location and Townscape
The church and village green are the focal points of Karstädt town center. The surrounding houses were renovated after German reunification. The open-air swimming pool is flanked by an open-air stage and a multi-purpose hall, where cultural and sporting events take place.
Culture and Community Life
Local clubs contribute to cultural life in Karstädt through sports, singing, fishing, and small-animal breeding. There is also a traditional carnival season from November 11 to Ash Wednesday.
