Godendorf is located in the southeastern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District and within the Feldberg Lake District Nature Park. The town is about 14 kilometers from Neustrelitz and borders Brandenburg to the south. In the surrounding area south of Godendorf, the lake district continues into the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park.

Culture and surroundings

The surrounding area of Godendorf includes the abandoned village of Kastaven, the cultural-historical monument of the Klosterkirche Ruins, and Kaninchen Werder. The Ravensbrück Memorial and Remembrance Site, Stadtpark, Havelpark, and Motocross are also located in the surrounding area.
