Visitors can observe the animals at the Damerower Werder bison reserve. The reserve is located on a peninsula in Lake Kölpin and in Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heath Nature Park. The forest adventure trail features climbing opportunities, an ant house, an exhibition with touch-and-see panels, and a dendrophone. Animal watching and the trail’s various features therefore offer different perspectives on the nature experience.
Water-based exploration offers another perspective. From Neustrelitz town harbour, visitors can explore MĂĽritz National Park and the Strelitz Small Lakes area via the Upper Havel Waterway. Unlike the hiking trail, this option follows a waterway and offers views from the water of two named nature destinations.
