Kieve is situated on the upper Elde near the state border with Brandenburg. The nearest towns are Röbel/Müritz and Wittstock/Dosse.

Location and Landscape

South of Kieve, the landscape is gently hilly and forms part of the Wittstock-Ruppiner Heide. The Großer Kiever See lake is nearby and covers approximately 17 hectares. The nearby Glambecksee lake has a public bathing area.

The Windmühlenberg and Winterberg hills are located in the vicinity of Kieve. The Gnitterberg hill is also situated in the surrounding area.

History and Culture

The church in Kieve dates from the 13th century. Kieve was first documented in 1298; its foundation is traditionally associated with 30 December 1232, specifically through the history of the Altkamp Cistercian monastery estate.

The Burgwall is located in the surrounding area of Kieve. In the wider regional area are the Sechzehnhundertsechsunddreißig Battle Memorial Platform, the Ringwall and Goldbeck Castle.
