Lake Dobbertin and protected landscapes
Lake Dobbertin is in the Mecklenburg Lake District, north of Goldberg. It is about 5.4 kilometres long and no more than one kilometre wide. Dobbertin, with its monastery and associated park, lies on the northern shore. The monastery itself stands on a peninsula in the lake.
The lake lies within the “Mittleres Mildenitztal” protected landscape area and Nossentiner-Schwinzer Heide Nature Park.
