The Großer Serrahn is a moor in the municipality of Neu Poserin and is located in the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park. Together with the Kleiner Serrahn, it forms the largest nature reserve in the Goldberg-Mildenitz administrative district, covering an area of 722 hectares. The Großer Serrahn is also part of the lowland bog complex that belongs to the municipality’s landscape. The Schwinzer Heide extends across the municipalities of Dobbertin and Neu Poserin and the town of Goldberg. It covers about 10,000 hectares and is the largest contiguous forest in Ludwigslust-Parchim district. The heathland therefore encompasses a larger landscape area than the nature reserve around the Großer and Kleiner Serrahn. A manor house in the municipality of Neu Poserin dates from the 19th century and adds a historical point of interest to the natural attractions. In Groß Poserin, opposite the cemetery, there is a former rectory. It is now used as a Protestant retreat and conference center.
