Hiking between the high shoreline and the plateau
The high shoreline trail starts in Lohme and runs almost 12 km along the high shoreline to Sassnitz. It can be identified by its white-blue-white markings. After about 4 km, you reach the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre and its interactive exhibition. The markings and the centre provide two different points of reference for the hike: the route itself and a named place along the way.
The Lohme municipality’s hiking area lies centrally on the plateau of the Jasmund peninsula and offers four signposted main routes. Route 2 follows the Westuferweg and offers views of the Tromper Wiek; Route 4 follows Rügen’s chalk coast to the Königsstuhl. By comparison, Route 2 looks out over the Tromper Wiek, while Route 4 follows the coastline as far as the Königsstuhl.
