Nature, Linden Avenue and cycling route
More than 50 bird species find shelter and nesting sites in the reeds near the natural harbor. The reed area is close to the harbor and brings birdlife into the village’s surroundings as a feature in its own right. The two-kilometer-long Linden Avenue to Krummin is protected. Cyclists can ride east from Krummin along the shore of Krumminer Wiek to the Gnitz peninsula. These places have different connections: the reeds are close to the harbor, Linden Avenue leads to Krummin, and the cycling route runs east to Gnitz. Literature and local history
Krummin’s history is also associated with a specific person: Pastor Johann Wilhelm Meinhold served in Krummin from 1827 to 1844 and wrote his novel “Die Bernsteinhexe” there. St. Michael’s Church in Krummin is the last surviving remnant of the Cistercian nunnery dissolved during the Reformation. These two traces point to different periods: Meinhold’s tenure is dated from 1827 to 1844, while the monastery’s history dates to the Reformation.
