The Trebel flows through the western part of the municipality of Deyelsdorf. The municipality also includes a section of the unfinished coastal canal and a larger forested area.

Geographical setting

Deyelsdorf is a municipality in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen. The village is located about 20 kilometers west of Grimmen and about five kilometers south of Tribsees.

Landscape

Holmburg and Heideberg are located in the vicinity of Deyelsdorf. The landscape therefore extends from the municipality itself, with the Trebel, a section of the coastal canal, and forest, to the surrounding area of the village.

History

Deyelsdorf's history was shaped in particular by a former estate that had been owned by the von Behr family since the Middle Ages. In 1637, during the Thirty Years' War, Bassendorf and several surrounding estates passed to the Swedish major general and Imperial Councilor Hans Baron von Wachtmeister of Björkö.
