Wilnowo is a village in the municipality of Morąg, in Ostróda County and the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

Nature

Lake Narie is described as having an approximately 50-kilometer-long shoreline, depths of more than 40 meters in places, and an area of about 1,260 hectares.

Nineteen islands are recorded in Lake Narie, including Duża Wyspa, Mała Wyspa, Duchów, Kaczy Ostrów, and Złota.

History and Culture

Wilnowo is located in the historic region of Upper Prussia. The village is documented for the years 1402 and 1408 and is described both as a rent-paying village and as a fishing village.

In the wider regional surroundings of Wilnowo are Ostróda - Teutonic Castle, 14th century, as well as the Collegiate Basilica.
