Dobra is a town in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland and in Łobez County. It is located in the West Pomeranian Lakeland on the Dobrzenica stream. The entire old town of Dobra is entered in the register of historic monuments.
History
Dobra has a long documented history. This includes a medieval settlement, a period of castle construction in the 13th century, and municipal rights dating from before 1331.
Culture
The Jarmark Doberski is held in the market square in July. The two-day, family-oriented fair draws on medieval fairs in Dobra and has been held since 1999.
Landscape in the Surrounding Area
In the wider regional area, the municipality of Dobra lies at the meeting point of the Łobez Upland, the Ińsko Lakeland, and the Nowogard Plain. In the southeastern part of the municipality, it borders Lake Woświn, which can be used for kayaking.
Historical Traces
Dobra also has historical connections to two narrow-gauge railway lines: the Stargard line and the Resko line. Neither is still in operation.
