Mielno is located on the coast between the Baltic Sea and Lake Jamno. Water, greenery and beach landscapes characterize the town, combining a maritime setting with a wide sandy beach used for relaxation and outdoor activities.
Coast and Landscape
Mielno offers a setting geared towards a seaside resort, with a beach, attractions, restaurants, bars and accommodation. The landscape extends beyond the town itself and includes various coastal areas in the surrounding region.
Nature
The Leśna Pętla Przygód i Tajemnic is a nature trail approximately three kilometres long, running through coastal dunes and forests. Along the route there are cone sculptures and viewing terraces.
History and Culture
From the 19th century onwards, Mielno developed from a fishing settlement into a seaside resort. The opening of the railway line from Koszalin to Mielno in 1903 contributed to the town's development as a seaside resort.
On 1 January 2017, Mielno became a town after it was merged with neighbouring Unieście. Local historical and cultural topics are presented at the Grodzisko Słowiańskie, with workshops, demonstrations of knightly combat and reconstructions of Slavic traditions.
