Cityscape and Culture

A large part of the original buildings on Stargard Szczeciński’s Old Town Market Square was destroyed in 1945. The buildings standing there today are post-war reconstructions.

The Basteja houses a branch of the Stargard Museum. Since 2014, the historic “W Krainie Gryfa” festival has been held there.

The “Jarmark u Królowej Świata” is also held annually on the Old Town Market Square. It is jointly organized by the parish and the Stargard Cultural Centre.

The Archaeological-Historical Museum and the Tourist Information Centre are also located on the Old Town Market Square. Both institutions are housed in two reconstructed townhouses with a neo-Baroque appearance.

The wider regional surroundings of Stargard include Góry Lipki, Lisica and Czajcza Góra (Kopiec).

Activity

Stargard hosted an orienteering event organized by the local railway branch of the PTTK. Participants followed a route and searched for checkpoints.
