Puck (Putzig)

The town of Puck (German: Putzig), with a population of more than 11,000, lies north of Gdynia (Gdingen) in the northwestern corner of the Bay of Gdańsk (Zatoka Gdańska), whose inner waters are known as Puck Bay (Zatoka Pucka). The town’s development has always been closely tied to its port and fishing industry. Puck lies on the edge of the Nadmorski Landscape Park, which encompasses the entire Hel Peninsula, half of Puck Bay, and part of the Baltic coast to the west. From the harbour, which features a uniquely designed restaurant, there are views across to the Hel Peninsula. A beautifully landscaped park invites visitors to stroll and relax.
The county town of Puck is an ideal base for excursions to the north and south. To the north, the Hel Peninsula awaits with its unique natural environment and attractive seaside resorts; to the south are the port city of Gdynia (Gdingen), the seaside resort of Sopot (Zoppot), and the major city of Gdansk (Danzig). Numerous cycle paths have been laid out around the town, connecting with routes in every direction.
