Göhren
The Baltic seaside resort of Göhren is located at the easternmost tip of Rügen Island. Thanks to its exposed location, Göhren has both a north beach and a south beach, separated by Rügen’s eastern headland, the 60-metre-high Nordperd. The narrow-gauge railway “Rasender Roland” connects Göhren with Baabe, Sellin, Binz and Putbus-Lauterbach.
Wellness and medical wellness are among the services Göhren places particular emphasis on. The seaside resort is a member of the German Seaside Resorts Association, which focuses especially on the region’s therapeutic resources. Göhren is also a centre for Kneipp treatments. The facilities include foot-wading and arm-bathing pools in the spa gardens, as well as the spa and health centre’s specialised services.
At the north beach, the Bernstein promenade has been completely redesigned. It is an attractive complement to the traditional buildings in the resort architecture style. The promenade is not only a pleasant place to stroll; its adventure playground is a particular draw for children. The pier is where excursion boats berth.
