Sellin
The seaside resort of Sellin lies in the east of the island of Rügen and, after Binz and alongside Göhren, is one of Rügen’s most important seaside resorts.
Today, the pier, rebuilt in 1998 based on its historic design and, at 394 metres, the longest on Rügen, is the town’s main attraction. The pier’s villa-like structure is characteristic of the resort architecture that also dominates the town. Wilhelmstraße, which leads to the main beach entrance, is one of the most beautiful streets in the resort-architecture style along the entire Baltic coast.
Sellin’s beach lies sheltered from westerly winds below the seaside resort, at the foot of the steep coast, which can also be traversed by lift.
Sellin’s marina is located inland from the seaside resort, on Lake Sellin. This picturesque little bay is connected to the Greifswalder Bodden, making it accessible to recreational boats, which have several mooring options there.
