DFDS Shipping Company

The Danish shipping company, headquartered in Copenhagen, was founded in 1866 and is one of Denmark’s oldest and most successful companies. Today, DFDS primarily operates ferry services in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, particularly between mainland Europe and Scandinavia and the United Kingdom.
As one of the leading ferry operators, DFDS runs passenger and freight routes across Europe. With a fleet of more than 50 ships, it safely carries around six million people across the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the English Channel every year. In addition to simple crossings, the company’s portfolio includes mini-cruises, package holidays and tours, as well as group trips. DFDS has received the World Travel Award for the world’s best ferry operator for the eighth time. It has also held the title of “Europe’s Leading Ferry Operator” for the twelfth consecutive year.
Passenger routes on the Baltic Sea include Oslo–Copenhagen, Kiel–Klaipeda (Lithuania), Kiel–Ust-Luga (Russia), Karlshamn (Sweden)–Klaipeda and Paldiski (Estonia)–Kapellskär (Sweden).
The North Sea is crossed on the Amsterdam–Newcastle and Dover–Calais–Dunkirk routes.
In addition, there are numerous freight connections in the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions.
