“Our little house” stands right at the “corner,” on the tip of the mainland opposite Usedom Island, directly at the mouth of the Peene. From here, you can see nearby Usedom Island, the offshore island of Ruden, and Rügen Island on the opposite shore of the Greifswalder Bodden. This is one of the most scenically fascinating regions of the Baltic coast. The surroundings could hardly be more picturesque. The beach is 400 metres away, the canoe centre barely 100 metres, and the well-known romantic fishing harbour of Freest about two kilometres.

You wouldn’t guess at first glance that the house was built in 1895. In 2011/12, it was extensively restored in the style of a traditional thatched-roof fisherman’s cottage, and today offers a modern holiday apartment with a terrace for up to four people. A separate living room and kitchen are unusual for holiday apartments; the kitchen’s modern amenities, including a dishwasher and electric cooker, leave little to be desired. There are also two bedrooms, helping to keep family life harmonious even on holiday. The apartment occupies the entire ground floor, covering approximately 50 square metres.
The furnishings reflect the age of the house and give it an authentic atmosphere. Amenities such as underfloor heating and modern kitchen appliances are deliberately not apparent at first glance. The bathroom, with its spacious shower area, is tiled tastefully and in keeping with the style. To protect the thatched roof, smoking is not permitted in the holiday home.
The “little house” is an ideal base for excursions to the seaside resort of Lubmin, the towns of Wolgast and Greifswald , and, of course, Usedom Island. A passenger and bicycle ferry from Freest to Peenemünde on the opposite shore shortens the journey there. The flat terrain makes for relaxing cycling.
