Hotels on Rügen

Germany’s largest island, Rügen, has a long tradition of seaside bathing. Its best-known landmarks are the chalk cliffs between Sassnitz and Lohme and Cape Arkona.

Rügen’s more varied eastern half is shaped by the chain of seaside resorts stretching from Binz and Prora to Thiessow. Here, dunes and steep cliffs alternate along the coast. Not far from the resorts, often untouched nature beckons visitors to explore and go hiking. One of Germany’s most visited castles is Granitz Hunting Lodge near Binz, where views stretch across the Baltic Sea from Rügen to the neighbouring island of Usedom and the mainland of Western Pomerania.
