Wellness Hotels & Providers in Western Pomerania

The Western Pomeranian coastal hinterland stretches from the foothills of Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park in the north, past the Hanseatic towns of Stralsund and Greifswald, the seaside resort of Lubmin on the Greifswald Bodden, the former Pomeranian residences of Wolgast and Ueckermünde, and the Lilienthal town of Anklam, to the Szczecin Lagoon at the mouth of the Oder in the south. Within sight of the mainland lie the main Baltic Sea holiday destinations: the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula and the islands of Rügen and Usedom. The Western Pomeranian coastal hinterland also has plenty of excursions to offer. North of Stralsund is Europe’s largest crane roosting site, while the Peene, Central Europe’s only unspoilt river valley, flows into the sea near Anklam. This rural region is home to numerous former castles and manor houses, many of which have been restored and are now open to visitors. A holiday in this idyllic natural setting is a wonderful way to relax and recharge. The long stretch of coastline is ideal for a family activity holiday with a maritime feel, whether sailing, surfing, cycling or canoeing on the waterways. Beavers, cranes and white-tailed eagles are all a familiar sight here.
The Hanseatic towns of Stralsund and Greifswald are becoming increasingly popular with holidaymakers interested in history and can therefore offer a well-developed infrastructure. Among the tourist attractions, the Hansedom in Stralsund is one of Germany’s largest water parks.
