Kuehlungsborn Water Sports Center – Sailing, Surfing, Fishing, Diving

The newly built water sports center in Kuehlungsborn West offers a wide range of activities across all areas of water sports at the Baltic seaside resort of Kuehlungsborn. Here, you can learn the basics of catamaran sailing and windsurfing. Beginner courses follow VDS standards, while advanced courses are tailored to participants’ existing skills. Future sailors and surfers can also book introductory, beginner and advanced courses as packages that include an overnight stay at the center’s own guesthouse. All courses can be completed with a VDS basic certificate. Naturally, the schedule for surfing and sailing courses depends on current weather conditions. The fascination of surfing remains undiminished, and conditions on the Baltic Sea are ideal. All the necessary equipment can be hired from the water sports center.

Fishing trips offered by the Kuehlungsborn Water Sports Center are less dependent on the weather. From the boat rental at Anglersteig in Kuehlungsborn West, you can hire fishing boats that do not require a licence, together with a fishing guide. A fishing licence is required, as well as a tourist fishing licence for occasional anglers and a permit to fish in the Baltic Sea. A popular fishing ground is Trollegrund, just a ten-minute boat ride away.

The Water Sports Center offers scuba diving courses in partnership with the Baltic dive center, as packages that include accommodation and meals. From snorkelling and introductory dives to depths of six metres (also available for children aged 12 and over), right through to the internationally recognised Open Water Diver (OWD) certification, it is all possible right on Kuehlungsborn’s doorstep.
