The Ventė ornithological station is located at Marių g. 24B in Ventė. It was founded in 1929 on the initiative of Professor T. Ivanauskas and is an important center for environmental education in the coastal and lagoon area. From 1929 to 2006, the station's staff, together with volunteers, ringed almost two million birds.

The area around Ventė includes several islands with different geographical references: Zingelinės Sala is located nearby. Vito Sala, Triušių Sala, and Ostrov Severnyy are also located in the surrounding area.

Culture and history

Karvaičiai is also located in the vicinity of Ventė, a site considered to be a ruin.
