Demen is located approximately 9.5 kilometers northeast of Crivitz and approximately 10 kilometers south of Sternberg.
Landscape
Large parts of the municipality of Demen are forested; these include the Venzkower Tannen and Kobander Tannen forest areas. The Warnow River flows through the municipality, joined by the Demener Bach. Several small lakes, including Dorfsee, Fauler See, and Tiefer See, together form the Demener Rinne. Kobande, a locality within the municipality, lies on the northern shore of Lake Barnin.
The Windmühlenberg is located in the immediate vicinity of Demen. Voßbarg and Ravensberg are situated in the surrounding area, while Flakenwerder lies in the wider regional area.
Culture
Demen has a medieval village church. The Groß Raden open-air museum is located in the surrounding area. The Schwerin-Zippendorf television tower, the “Schwerin, Landesmuseum,” and Bützow Castle are also located in the wider regional area around Demen.
