West of Borrentin lies Lake Kummerow. Borrentin is a municipality in the northern part of the Mecklenburg Lake District and lies south of Demmin.

Culture and History

The monastery church in Verchen and St. Bartholomew's Church in Demmin are located in the surrounding area of Borrentin. Schlossberg and Wildberg are also located in the wider regional area. Borrentin was first documented in 1270 in connection with the transfer of the village to Verchen Monastery by the Pomeranian Duke Barnim I.
