Culture

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Giławy is a Neo-Gothic church built of red brick between 1896 and 1898. It has historic organs from the 19th century; in 2000, the building was entered in the heritage register. The founding of the village is dated to 1407. The first recorded name is considered to be Sirwithen; in 1441, the settlement was re-established under the name Giław.
