The documented history of Wadąg includes a founding document from 1337 associated with land on the Wadąg River. A mill was built there in 1348. In the vicinity of Wadąg are Olsztyn - Zamek XIVw. and Janusz Kusociński Park; in the wider regional area is the Bazylika Kolegiacka.

A public transport connection with Olsztyn is available via city bus lines 108 and 112.
