History and Landscape

The castle in Pęzino was originally built by the Knights Hospitaller at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. It stands where the Krępiel and Pęzinka waterways fork, amid floodplains. Naturally fed moats contribute to its defensive design.

The castle complex in Pęzino is listed as a registered monument under registration number kl.V-O/1/55 dated 22 April 1955.
