Zingst
The Baltic seaside resort of Zingst is located on the peninsula of the same name, forming the eastern part of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. In the 19th century, before the Prerowstrom channel was closed, the town was an important maritime and shipbuilding center. Bathing tourism gradually began afterward, bringing Zingst its present-day prominence as a Baltic seaside resort.
After 1990, virtually the entire town, including its buildings and streets, was completely renovated. New tourist developments complement the extensive historic architecture, and today Zingst presents itself as one of Germany’s most beautiful and well-kept Baltic resorts, combining tradition and modernity across a spacious setting.
The 18-kilometer-long beach is enjoyed by visitors to the large campground as well as by guests staying in holiday apartments and hotels. A spa and wellness center caters to their well-being. The harbor on the Barther Bodden is the starting point for trips on the surrounding lagoon waters.
