Segway Tours Usedom

Riding a Segway has become a new trend in active holidays. At first glance, you might worry about maintaining your balance, but there is no need. Thanks to sophisticated technology, the vehicle is “tip-proof.” After a short familiarization period, any “ordinary person” can ride a Segway, and it quickly becomes great fun. To ride a Segway, you must be licensed to operate a moped (minimum age 15; weight between 45 and 115 kg). The electric motor has a range of approximately 30 to 40 kilometers, depending on riding style and terrain. When braking or traveling downhill, electrical energy is recovered and fed back into the battery. In 2009, Steven Wollenberg from Ahlbeck became the first provider of Segway tours on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom.
Currently (as of summer 2011), he offers seven different tours in several locations on Usedom. The short (40 min) or long (60 min) Imperial Spas tour through Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck , as well as the short (90 min) or long (120 min) guided Swinemünde tour, let you explore the area around the Imperial Spas as far as neighboring Swinemünde . Other tours pass through the Baltic seaside resorts of Koserow (90 min), Trassenheide and Karlshagen (60 min), or start at Mellenthin Castle and travel through the Achterland (90 min). Helmets and weatherproof jackets are included in the price. Custom tours can also be arranged. Before setting off, participants receive an introduction and riding instruction. Segway licenses, which allow independent use of a Segway, can also be obtained from Segtouren Usedom.

Segways are becoming increasingly popular for promotions and as part of events, and the vehicles are also available for purchase, of course.
